Still unsure? No worries—just say hello and let me know what you need!
When will we get our photos?
You’ll receive your fully edited gallery within about 2 weeks for most sessions. During busy seasons (like fall and holidays), it may take slightly longer. If you need your photos sooner, let me know—I may be able to accommodate rush editing.
How many pictures will we get?
I carefully curate and edit the best images to ensure you receive a stunning, high-quality gallery. Mini session galleries may have 30-ish photos, while events may have hundreds. However, I don't set a minimum number... nor do I set a maximum number!
Where can we print photos?
Your gallery will include high-resolution digital files, which you can print anywhere. For the best color accuracy and quality, I recommend ordering prints and other photo products through my professional lab, linked in your online gallery. I also recommend MPix, a great consumer lab. I don’t recommend your neighborhood drugstore print lab unless you’re in a time crunch.
Do you offer film photography?
While I learned photography on film cameras (and still love them!), I generally shoot digitally for sessions. Digital photography allows for greater flexibility and faster turnaround times, while still maintaining that timeless, artistic look. But if you really want film—let’s talk!
Is your pricing flexible?
My pricing reflects the time, skill, and care I put into capturing, editing, and delivering high-quality images. However, I sometimes offer seasonal promotions or mini sessions at a lower price point—keep an eye on my social media or sign up for my newsletter to stay updated!
My daughter has a bruise on her face. Can you Photoshop it?
Yes! Minor retouching (bruises, scratches, small blemishes) is included in your session. If there’s anything specific you’re concerned about, just let me know!
(Note that major edits, like completely fixing wrinkled clothing, require extensive Photoshop work. I always recommend steaming or ironing outfits before your session to prevent this. Major retouching is available for an additional fee.)
Where is your studio? Is there parking?
I am based in Union County, NJ, and my studio is conveniently located in Springfield. Once you book, I’ll send the exact address and details! There is free parking available there.
What should we wear?
I recommend comfortable, season-appropriate outfits that coordinate naturally without matching exactly. Earth tones, soft colors, and layers photograph beautifully and add depth to your images. Try to avoid loud patterns, logos, and very bright colors. I also suggest choosing clothing that moves well and avoiding stiff, brand-new outfits (especially for kids)—we want everyone to feel relaxed and free to be themselves! If we’ll be exploring a park, consider wearing comfortable shoes that can walk on grass and dirt.
Need guidance? I’m happy to offer wardrobe suggestions to help your family look and feel your best!
What happens if it rains?
If we have rainy weather, we can either reschedule for a better day or move the session indoors (including my studio or your home). I’ll always check the forecast and stay in touch as your session date approaches. Keep in mind that a cloudy sky can actually be wonderful for lighting—we only reschedule for actual rain.
Can you recommend a location for our photos?
Absolutely! I have several favorite spots in Northern and Central NJ that provide beautiful backdrops for family sessions. Whether you prefer a natural setting like a park or beach, an urban vibe, or even your own home, I’m happy to suggest the perfect location based on your vision. Let’s chat about what would work best for your family!
I am experienced in shooting in a variety of lighting conditions, including dimly lit venues. I use professional equipment, fast lenses, and lighting techniques to ensure your photos are clear, well-lit, and beautiful.
How do you photograph in low light?
Do you have a back-up camera in case of equipment failure?
Absolutely! I always bring multiple cameras and lenses to ensure there are no interruptions in capturing your event. Further, my camera records your photos onto two different memory cards at the same time, just in case!
